Job Description

As a Sorter in our Pricing Department at Big Deal Outlet, your primary responsibility will be sorting of various food products, ensuring warehouse cleanliness, organization, and staging of products. You'll play a vital role in maintaining a productive and safe warehouse environment.

What You Will Do:

• Lift up to 20 lbs. repeatedly.
• Work efficiently in a production environment, prioritizing accuracy in product sorting.
• Check dates on packaging and labels to maintain quality control.
• Safely handle food product containers, including potential hazards like broken glass, spillage, and moldy or rotten items.
• Move products to their designated categories (e.g., baking, sweets, sauces, etc.).
• Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and math skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Proven history of honesty and integrity.
• Capacity to work independently and adapt to change with little instruction.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliable attendance.
• Previous production line work is a plus.
• Ability to stand for 6 - 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Experience:

Work is generally performed in a warehouse and retail store environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand or sit for long periods of time
• Use a computer to enter data
• Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs
• Perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement
• Feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
• Move objects up to 10 lbs. (Must be able to frequently move/lift objects up to 25 lbs. in weight. May occasionally move/lift an object up to 50 lbs. in weight)
